The CTII Community Choir has given its first public performance as part of the exciting “Boundless Compassion” event. Held at St. Georges Cathedral in Cape Town South Africa, the event is a part of Tibetan mediation master Mingyur Rinpoche‘s first visit to our country and continent.

Much more will be told about the evening and the Rinpoche’s tour, but this is simply to say well done to the choir that convened for the occasion. Comprised of a very diverse cross section of people, culturally and religiously, the set of 4 songs set out to capture some of our traditions and spiritualities.
More might be written, but here is the music:
“Hoerikwaggo” is the Indigenous name for Cape Town’s Table Mountain (“Huriǂoaxa, lit. ’sea-emerging’). “Gangaans Abotse” means “Thank you Lord” in the Khoekhoegowab language.
“Da Pacem” is chant of the Taize Community whose English verse is “Give peace to every heart” Additional verses are (Hebrew) Shalom la le vot / (Arabic) Salaam al qaloob / (Tibetan/Sanscrit) Om Ma-ni Pemme Hung
Thank you to all who have contributed to the building of our Choral community in recent months.
