The CTII Community Choir has given its first public performance as part of the exciting “Boundless Compassion” event. Held at St. Georges Cathedral in Cape Town South Africa, the event is a part of Tibetan mediation master Mingyur Rinpoche‘s first visit to our country and continent.
On Monday the 11th of August, the CTII Schools visited the Darus Salaam Masjied in Mitchells Plain. They were hosted by Imam Kashief and Imam Abrahams.
Pippa Jones was out of town, and between the teachers, local imams and our youth leadership the event went very well.

We concluded our 3-part dialogue series with a look at the G20 theme of “Solidarity”.
Cecil Plaatjies and Horst Kleinschmidt together with Babalwa Ngcongolo and Laurie Gaum lead an engaged audience in a fascinating set of reflections. Compared to the other 2 – Equality and Sustainability – solidarity required a little more from us.

We visited Stevie and Deborah Seutloali’s house off Silverstream Road near Mamre which burned down on Saturday evening. They have been part of our interfaith community for some years, and have stepped out to create a life outside the city limits.
Thank you to all who have taken part by accompanying the visit, with material goods, or financial donations. Yesterday, James Ellman and Ferdy Truby of Elsies’ FHLC and Cecil Plaatjies and myself of CTII squeezed into the car full to the roof with food and many other useful things and headed north up the N7.
